Regulatory Services Australia is part of The Weringa Group Pty Ltd (TWG)

The Weringa Group specializes in helping overseas companies, industry organizations, and trade groups successfully navigate the complexities of establishing and expanding their business opportunities in Australia

From initial market evaluation to business establishment, TWG offers expert guidance to meet the unique needs of each client, supporting them through the entire process of market entry and growth with a range of tailored services.

Resident Director

A key service offered by TWG is its Local Directorship solution.

For overseas companies seeking to establish or expand operations in Australia and New Zealand, TWG provides Non-Executive Director (NED) services, which are a legal requirement for foreign businesses operating in these markets. Our NED services offer local oversight and strategic guidance to help navigate the complexities of Australian and New Zealand regulations.

A NED plays a vital role in overseeing a company’s strategic direction and governance, without being involved in day-to-day management. NEDs provide independent judgment, external expertise, and objective advice on business decisions, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Piers Morgan, the firm’s Executive Director and experienced NED, managing over 30 subsidiaries of overseas companies, offers valuable insights into the regulatory landscape, corporate governance, and local business practices. His expertise ensures compliance with local laws while supporting long-term success in the region.

Public Officer

In Australia, a Public Officer (PO) is a key role for all companies, responsible for ensuring compliance with tax laws and acting as the primary point of contact for the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

The Public Officer oversees the company's legal obligations, filing requirements, and record-keeping in line with Australian regulations.

TWG, led by our Executive Director, Piers Morgan, offers Public Officer services to overseas companies entering the Australian market.

With Piers’ expertise in Australian corporate governance and tax requirements, we provide expert guidance to ensure your business meets all compliance obligations, enabling you to focus on growth and operational efficiency.

Company Formation

In addition to our Directorship (NED) and Compliance (PO) services, TWG offers a comprehensive range of commercial support solutions designed to help foreign companies successfully establish and grow in the Australian market.

Our team provides end-to-end assistance, including:

  • Company formation and registration

  • Setting up local bank accounts

  • Bookkeeping and accounting services

  • Tax and compliance support

  • Provision of a local business address

  • Access to professional meeting rooms

With TWG as your trusted partner, you can navigate the complexities of Australian business regulations and operations with confidence, allowing you to focus on your core objectives and long-term growth.

Local Agent for
ARBN & IOR

With an ARBN, foreign companies can operate in Australia without the need to establish a subsidiary. This streamlined solution allows you to access the Australian market quickly and efficiently while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

An ARBN foreign company will need a local agent. TWG can act as your Local ARBN Agent.

In addition, TWG can act as your Importer of Record (IOR), both in Australia and New Zealand. As your IOR, we assume the responsibility of being the local entity for regulatory compliance in each market.

    MARK FOLEY - BSA LTD

  • “I have no hesitation writing a testimonial for Piers Morgan, who worked as a part-time General Manager of Sydney Film School ("SFS") from April 2015 to December 2016. He was engaged to work two days a week but for most of that period he worked considerably more hours than that to manage the non-educational side of the business and to implement changes in a timely manner.

The School's administrative systems were outdated. Piers implemented many important changes to processes and procedures, including the adoption of computer packages, to improve the systems used to manage School activities and meet increasingly onerous regulatory reporting requirements to the Federal Government. There were also difficult staff matters to resolve and Piers played an important part in managing the transition of staff in and out of the School during his time with SFS.

Outside that brief, the senior management team of three, including Piers, had to deal with the unexpected sale of the leased premises the School had occupied for more than ten years. That process resulted in a successful merger with the international Screen Academy in Waterloo in December 2016. and the relocation of Sydney Film School to their premises earlier this year. As part of the process, economies were required and Piers's role was made redundant as part of that process.

Dealing with the merger required much additional work in secret and under considerable pressure, It would have been very difficult if staff knew about the proposed deal before it concluded.

Piers did an excellent job managing the demanding work load and managing staff during his time at SFS.”

BEN FERRIS - SYDNEY FILM SCHOOL
